Pastor Rebecca Truland
Born in the Capital Region of upstate New York, Pastor Truland was part of the fourth generation of her family to graduate from Lansingburgh High School in Troy. After earning a Bachelor of Arts in English from the State University of New York College at Oneonta, she served a missionary in London, England from 2009-2010. In London, Pastor Truland worked at a youth retreat center and engaged students from ages 5-17 about what Christian faith means for the way we relate to ourselves, the people around us, and the world.
After her time in England, Pastor Truland moved back to the States and worked in the education department of a large teaching hospital for a few years before moving to the midwest to attend the Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago where she trained in ministry and theology. She completed field education that included both parish and campus ministry, and she fulfilled a year-long internship in rural Nebraska. Her seminary studies were completed in the spring of 2017, and she began her ministry at Holy Trinity in the fall of that year.
