are various organizations in the area to help with specific
needs. If you are in need of help, or would like a volunteer
opportunity, please refer to the information below.
CONTACT is a 24 hour telephone hot line serving those in need of
help, guidance, reassurance, crisis intervention, or just
a listening ear.
INFORMATION and REFERRAL: Links people with appropriate
human services resources.
REASSURANCE CONTACT: A daily phone call at a
prearranged time to people isolated, living alone, shut-in
or lonely.
CONTACT-A-FRIEND: Telephone "warm-line"
for children at home alone (609) 262-2220. Answered
by trained adult volunteers.
CONTACT RAPE CRISIS PROGRAM: Free counseling
for anyone who has been recently (or not so recently) raped.

House of Catholic Charities:
Comprehensive domestic violence services including a 24-hour
hot line. Crisis and option counseling, emergency housing,
individual and group therapy for survivors and abusers.

CAREGIVERS
Provides a variety of supportive, volunteer-based services,
and professional case management services to help vulnerable
older adults and adults with physical disabilities continue
to live independently in their own homes despite increasing
frailty.

Samaritan Hospice Bereavement
Four, ten week sessions support groups beginning January,
April, July and October. Phase One deals with emotional
aspects of widowhood. Phase Two is informational and
educational. Phase Three explores options for the
future.

RAINBOW OF HOPE, INC:
An organization designed to assist homeless women with children
become self-sufficient in approximately 12 months.
Through a mentoring group of 8 to 10 people training is
provided to the woman in life management areas i.e., job
training, budgeting, parenting, and finding permanent housing.
Mentor training is provided. Clients are received
by referral.
